It is an older fan for use in damp locations. I never wired a remote control fan before. Also this one does not have the remote. So I was wondering what kind of remote I need to hook it up. If the remote is not necessary that is fine. All I really want to do is hook up the fan so I can control the light from a single pole single throw switch, and the fan from a pull chain and/or a separate switch.
Also the fan did come with the and still has the remote receiver wired to it. I tried to figure out how to by-pass it but have been unsuccessful so far.

Does it have the remote receiver in the fan? If not you can hook it up direct and you will not have to have a remote. Just hook the black wire in the box that went to the light fixture to the black and blue wires in the fan housing and hook the white wire in the fixture box to the white wire in the fan housing also hook the ground (bare) wire in the fixture housing to the green wire in the fan housing.
