Author: i wanted to buy new ones online, but i couldn’t think of the word for them. they aren’t sconces…..i know there is a word. its on the tip of my tongue. god this is frustrating. thanks for your help 
They are typically called globes, covers, or diffusers. But don’t worry, no one really knows what to call them so if you go into a store and describe them, they will understand.
