Author: We bought and had an electrician install a Hampton Bay 54" Windward III Gossamer Wind Series ceiling fan. However, even after 2 months after the install the fan makes a hum on all speeds and spins slowly even on high. What could be the issue?
We bought and had an electrician install a Hampton Bay 54" Windward III Gossamer Wind Series ceiling fan. However, even after 2 months after the install the fan makes a hum on all speeds and spins slowly even on high. I tried the fan on all 3 speed settings and it spins the same speed in all 3. What could be the issue?
Call your local HD and get the phone number for Hampton Bay if it is not on the paper work you have. Call them, they will probably just say bring it back and exchange it.

I think I would take the fan back to where you purchased it. It is defective.

Was the electrician liscensed? Sounds like its a bad fan or wired crossed
